Summe TIME!!!

Well, it's been a while since I've taken the time to blog. We've just been so busy this summer. I'm truly enjoying every minute of it though. To start our summer off, Reggie and I went to Cancun, MX the day after we got out of school. My wonderful mother and her fiance, AJ, watched our two kids for the week. It was such a relaxing retreat for Reggie and I to be able to relax, unwind, and reconnect after such a hectic year. After being home 5 days, we loaded the car, packed the kids up and left for Iowa for the next 12 days. We were able to see all of Reggie's family, including his parents, two brothers, his sister, sister-in-law, two nephews, grandparents, and a few aunts and uncles and cousins. The weather was extremely hot there but we did see rain, unlike San Antonio!

Next stop....Arkansas/Oklahoma! We visited my dad and grandparents in Arkansas and went to dad's lakehouse in Oklahoma. It was a fun and packed adventure for the 4 days we were there. We went out on the pontoon boat, dad pulled us on the new tube (Me, Reggie, and the two kids!), we swam at the pool, swam in the lake, ate at the floating restaurant, played bean bags, drove up to Fayetteville one day, ate at AQ chicken house, raced down the hill on the scooters, and had a wonderful grand-o time.

Finally - HOME! The train finally pulled home Friday morning, July 3rd at 5am! We drove through the night so the kids would sleep. Reggie and I were exhausted but glad to be back home and not living out of suitcases any more.

So, I feel like our summer just began. I've been taking the kids 3 times a week to the neighborhood pool and then at least once a week to Sea World. It's just too darn hot not to be in some type of water if you're going to be outside. The kids have been having a ball. I'll try and post some pics later.

SW Playoff Games

Reggie's team, the Southwest Dragons, are in the playoffs as most of you probably already know. They won their game in Alice, TX and Corpus Christi against Edinburg HS. Last night they had the biggest upset by beating Judson HS by a mere 2 points. It has been an amazing two weeks and we're looking forward to their 1pm game against Wagner at UTSA. Our nerves are rattled but we're hoping to pull out a win.

Play time - Sibling Love!

Jackson found Hadley's babydoll stroller in the garage yesterday so I brought it in and he's been thoroughly enjoying pushing it around the house. Now that "sissy" got home from "Gigi's" house (she spent the night last night), she's decided that Jackson should be her "babydoll"! Gotta see the pics. :) I'm surprised the stroller didn't break. Of course, Jackson played along as always and loved the attention. Sibling Love!

Fiesta Farms

Today we had another birthday party to attend. This time it was at Fiesta Farms. We got to hold bunnies, baby goats that were still nursing, ride ponies, pet lamas and guninie pigs, and play on a big tire swing. Hadley had a great time and my asthma didn't even act up. Yeah! Oh, the owners had 2 peacocks in their backyard and I got a pic of one of them spreading their feathers out. It was so pretty.

Bathtub

I just couldn't resist. They were just too cute. I can't believe I actually got them both smiling at the same time with the new (terrible) camera! They love bath time but bicker about toys. Jackson hits "sissy" with his toys trying to play with her so for me to actually capture them both smiling and laughing is GREAT! Had to share. Enjoy!

Picture Link

Ok, here's a link to see all the pics and more. I'm new to this blogging stuff and it takes me a while to upload the pics. There must be another way I don't know about to do it more efficently.

Hadley's 5th Birthday

Hi everyone! Hadley turned 5 on February 3, 2009. She loves birthday parties and had a total blast at her own. Seems like we're at a birthday party every weekend since the new year and I'm not seeing it slow down yet. Anywho...back to Hadley's party. This year we celebrated it at a place I found called "Minitown" and it was just fantastic. Inside, it's literally a mini-town set up for the kids. There's a grocery store with fake food, checkout stands, cash registers, miniature shopping carts, and the whole works. There's a room that's set up like a house, another room for a hair salon and dress up closet, a disco dancing room, a bank with ATM, a school house room, an arcade room, and even a movie theather complete with miniature recliners. This is the best place. Now, all of that was just inside. On to bigger and better things outside. There's a scooter track with three scooters, a giant moonwalk obstical course, a complete playgym, a massive sand box, and a trackless train. Hadley and her friends didn't want to even come inside! The weather could not have been any better. It was about 80* and gorgeous. But, when the kids did come inside for food, they had a ball playing dress up, dancing in the disco room and shopping at the grocery store. Many tears were shed when the party was over. I'm thinking it was a hit! :)
